India Backyard Ultra is India's first backyard ultra which started in 2020, and the registrations for the 7th edition are officially open for February 7, 2026.
Race Format: All runners continue to run a loop distance of 6.7056 KM hour after hour till only one person remains to finish the last loop alone. So, only "the last one standing" is the winner, while all other runners are DNFs (Did Not Finish).
IBU-7th edition is a silver ticket race, which grants the winner a direct spot on a 15-member Team India which will compete with other national teams in the satellite World Team Championship on October 17, 2026. Others who finish at least 24 hours will be added to the At-Large list, from which team India roster will be finalised, based on highest number of loops secured during the qualifying period (August 16, 2024-August 15, 2026).
