The annual Fund-Raiser event of Dream Runners Foundation to support the cause of providing prosthetic legs for the under-privileged, aiding survivors of domestic violence and offering financial aid to schools in need.

2008 – Dream Runners formed

Dream Runners was founded by a bunch of enthusiastic and highly motivated runners that soon grew to become one of the premier running groups with the intention of encouraging more Chennaiites to take up running as a fitness activity.

2012 – Dream Runners Half Marathon (DRHM) launched

Around 450 runners mostly from the local community participated in the inaugural event that was completely self-funded by members of Dream Runners. Since then the event has been organized annually during the third/fourth week of July every single year. It has been consistently ranked as #1 event by runners on the “Mumbai Road Runners (MRR) Race Rating” website in both the Half-Marathon (21.1k) and 10k categories across India.

Dream Runners Half Marathon (DRHM) – 2013 to 2019

Resoundingly successful editions held between 2013 and 2019, achieving high runner satisfaction and impactful social cause contributions. An average of 5000+ runners have participated in each edition since 2013 across both 10k and 21.1k categories with approx 20% being women runners. The event running route, considered by many the best in the city, covers some of the city’s most popular running stretches starting and ending, as always at cool & green Besant Nagar. 

Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon (Virtual Event) – 2020 & 2021

The 9th & 10th editions of DRHM turned virtual due to the Covid Pandemic, but that did not deter our runners from participating with the usual zeal and enthusiasm. The race was conducted in 3 categories 5K, 10K and 21.1K. The free virtual training conducted prior to the event for Running, Strength and Yoga was well attended from across the globe. Over 4000+ people registered and participated in the event, each year.

Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon 2022

When the pandemic slowly came to an end and normalcy returned, there was a great amount of excitement among runners as they were looking forward to participate in a live/physical event after a gap of 3 years. The 11th edition of Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon was organized in July 2022 which was bigger than before. A virtual edition was also simultaneously conducted.
